You can watch/hear an example on the official video presentation of this feature!

How do you add sound alerts to Streamlabs? Step by step

The Streamlabs alerts sounds are one part of the Alert Box feature, that allows you to show alerts for tips, follows, subs, and more.

Remember that if you join Streamlabs Prime, you’ll have access to many more professional themes that will allow you to stand out from the crowd.

Example of better streamlabs alert boxes

Step #1 – Add the Alert Box

First of all, you’ll need an Alert Box to which the sound will be attached to.

So go to Streamlabs Desktop, add a New Source by clicking on the + button, and choose the Alert Box type.

As usual, add a name to better identify the alert in the future, and click Done to add it.

Step #2 – Configure the alerts you want a sound on

Within the next step, you’ll see a window where you’ll have to configure all the alerts you want to be available (ON), on your streaming.

Just tick the boxes of the ones you want to appear on your streaming, visually and audibly

Each one has a default sound alert.

You can listen to them by clicking on the big Play button to the right of each type.

Step #3 – Change the audio file for each notification

On the right side of each notification type, you will find a panel where you can change certain preferences.

How to change the sound of an alertbox notification on Streamlabs

Among all the options, you will find one called Sound, with a “default.ogg” sound added.

If you hover that sound with your mouse, you’ll see 3 small button actions:

  • Clear Link (X icon)
  • Change Link (link icon)
  • Change Media (cloud icon)

Clear Link will delete the sound of the alertbox.

This could be useful if you want them to visually appear, but don’t want them to make any noise.

(You would get the same effect by setting the below volume bar to 0)

Change Link will let you add a link where you have a specific sound stored, like in a pCloud Folder.

Change media file Streamlabs

Finally, the “Change Media” button, is the one that will allow you to easily add custom sound alerts to Streamlabs.

You have two options at this point.

Upload sounds to Streamlabs

If you want to use a sound alert of your own, maybe because you’ve bought it somewhere else, after clicking the cloud icon (change media), you’ll just need to drag and drop your sound file to the window that will appear.
