Have you reached your storage limit or do you want to migrate to another service, and so you are asking yourself how to delete all photos from Amazon Photos?

In this guide, you’ll discover how to remove photos from amazon photos, some of them in a very efficient way, or delete all if you want to stop using this service.

How to delete SPECIFIC Amazon Photos from the App & the web interface

If you want to delete just a few pictures from your account, this couldn’t be easier.

Delete photos from Amazon Photos on phone

From your phone (iPhone or Android), using the free Amazon Photos App, all you have to do is tap and hold any picture you want to delete.

This photo will be selected, and you will be able to select more with quick taps on the others.

Then, just tap on the trash icon to delete them.

If you want to use the web interface (https://www.amazon.com/photos), the procedure is almost the same: select all the pictures you want to delete by clicking on them, and then again on the trash bin icon.

How to delete ALL Amazon Photos at once

What if you want to delete all the pictures from your Amazon Photos, and it turns out that you have thousands of them?

Neither in the mobile application nor on the web interface there is a button to “select all the photos”.

There are a couple of tricks:

  • On your Smartphone: tap and hold the first picture, and without lifting the finger, move it down (or to the direction where the rest of the photos you want to delete are) You will see that all the photos are being selected.
  • On your Mac or PC: delete the first picture of the range you want to delete, and while keeping pressing down the ⇧(shift) key, click on the last picture you want to delete. All photos in-between will be selected.

With this trick, you’ll be able to delete large packs of photos quickly.

Select All Photos on Amazon Photos

The above trick is insufficient if you have thousands of photos to delete.

It’s true that in the web interface, after selecting one picture, you’ll be able to select all of them by clicking the “Select All” button that will appear on the top left of the screen.

The thing is: Amazon only allows you to select a maximum of 3,000 photos, so, if in your current view, let’s say an album, you have 4,500 pictures, this button won’t appear, because you cannot select +3,000 items in the Photos Interface.

How to Delete all photos in Amazon Photos using Drive

Yep, this is the trick for deleting all your Amazon pictures at once in an easy and quick way.

You don’t delete all your photos from Amazon Photos, but from Amazon Drive!

It turns out that all the photos you see in the beautiful Amazon Photos interface, are stored in folders in Amazon Drive.

So, all you have to do is go to https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/, open the Pictures folder, and locate where yours are.

Then click on the global checkmark (this one has no limits!) and move all the elements to the trash.

Either you delete your photos using Drive, or Photos App, they will remain in the trash for 30 days, just in case you want to recover them.

After that, they will be gone forever.

Where deleted Amazon photos go

Does deleting the Amazon Photos account delete all the Photos?

Deleting your Amazon Photos account will also remove all your photos from your account, as you won’t have any.

However, actually, you don’t have an “Amazon Photos Account”.

Amazon Photos is just a service provided with your Amazon account, so unless you want to get rid of everything Amazon-related, this method is not recommended.

What happens if I delete the Amazon Photos app?

Deleting the Amazon Photos App from your devices won’t remove the pictures from the Amazon servers.
