The Moneytizer is a premium publisher network that will allow you to earn money with your blog by displaying ads on your site.
The Moneytizer is a very good alternative to Adsense (you will get more money with the same visits), and it’s also a good alternative to Mediavine, as it has much lower initial requirements.
In this guide, you’ll discover what is it, and how it works.
Plus, you’ll be able to get a $5 bonus just by signing up!

What is the Moneytizer?
The Moneytizer is an advertising platform that will allow you, as a webmaster, to display advertisements on your blog or website in a very easy way (setting everything up will take you just a few minutes!)
The main feature of this platform is that it uses a Header Bidding technology.
That means that the advertisers will compete with each other to appear in the different spaces on your site, so you’ll always get the best CPM possible.
CPM means cost per mille (views), so you will be paid proportionally based on how many people you can show the ads to.
This means that The Moneytizer is perfect for blogs with long-form content.
More words, more room for ads.

Requirements, what do you need to join the Moneytizer?
If you don’t like Ezoic, and you are having trouble getting 50,000 monthly sessions to jump into the Mediavine wagon, you’ll find on The Moneytizer a good intermediate solution.
Visits
The Moneytizer only requires 30,000 visits per month in order to be able to join the network.
This is still a lot if you’re starting out, and definitely, you could join Adsense sooner, but the 30,000 visits requirement is almost half of what other networks like Mediavine asks you.
And three times less if you compare it with bigger players like AdThrive!
Time ago this requirement was lower, but increased over time (as it happened with other solutions), so if you meet the threshold and are wondering if you should join, my recommendation is to join asap.

The Moneytizer is contract-free.
You can leave the network whenever you want, so you don’t have any risk of trying.
Consent Banner
The Moneytizer is based in Europe, and mainly because of that, you’ll need to configure a consent banner on your website if you want to work with them (actually you could, but this would affect your income significantly)
The consent banner is a measure applied in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.

The good news is:
- If you are already using a consent banner, and it complies with the IAB norms and is based on the IAB Framework, you are ready to go, and you don’t need to do anything else.
- If not, they have partnered with Quantcast, and they’ve developed a free consent banner with a really good acceptance ratio. All you have to do is copy the code you’ll find on your profile.

How much can you earn with The Moneytizer?
As you’ve seen, it’s kind of easy to join The Moneytizer, so maybe now you’re wondering what’s your earning potential.
This is going to depend a lot on your situation: visits per month, the main country of your traffic, average time per page, the kind of ads you use (more on this below)…
Lucky for you, you’ll find an income simulator on the main homepage of The Moneytizer.

This is good because you won’t have to create an Excel or make up random numbers, just fill in the basic data and you will receive a result by email in a few minutes.

The best thing is that as you need 30,000 pageviews to join, you’ll be able to start earning good money from the beginning.

The Moneytizer also offers a free service where a personal account manager will help you out choosing the ad formats for you, in order to optimize your revenue.
How often and how does the Moneytizer pay?
The Moneytizer has a payment threshold of 50 dollars.
That means you won’t be able to start the payment process until you get that amount, it doesn’t matter if this takes you one or two months, although, with the 30,000 visits requirement, you will probably have no problem reaching this amount on a monthly basis.

Once that amount is reached, an invoice will be auto-generated on the 10th of the month, and 60 days (two months) after that, you’ll get the money via Bank Transfer.
- Worst case scenario? You’ll reach $50 on the 11th of one month, you’ll have to wait until the 10th of the following, and then 60 days to get paid ~90 days (3 months)
- Best case scenario, you reach $50 on the 9th of the month, the day after the invoice is created, and 60 days later, you get paid ~61 days.
As a summary, every time you accumulate at least $50 on your balance, you’ll have to wait between 61 and 90 days to get paid.
But with a bit of traffic and optimization, you’ll be generating $50 constantly, so after the first 3 months, you’ll be getting paid monthly.
How to Sign Up
If all of the above sounds good to you, it’s time to join the platform.
Go to the main homepage, write your main website on the box (don’t worry, you’ll be able to add more once you’re registered), and click on Moneytize!

The Moneytizer sponsor code / sponsor URL

The following step is to fill in the classic sign-up form with your professional data, like your name and surname, phone number, country…
This is basic stuff, the most important thing, however, is to pay attention to the field called “Sponsor Code / Sponsor URL”.
The Moneytizer has a Referral Program where if you sign up using a Referral Code (e90b167eca734bfa06e48e9b6e1ddcff) from another platform user (like mine), you’ll automatically get $5 on your balance once you complete the signup.
You’ll need to wait a bit to get it into your bank account though, because The Moneytizer only releases payments when you reach the threshold of $50.
You’ll reach that number faster with the $5 bonus, so go ahead and sign-up using the following sponsor code:
e90b167eca734bfa06e48e9b6e1ddcff
After a few minutes/hours, you’ll get an email telling you if your website has been accepted, if so, is time to implement The Moneytizer on your site.
The MoneyBox
The MoneyBox is the control center of your Moneytizer account.

From there, you’ll be able to manage everything:
- See a global view of your account from the Dashboard panel.
- See the status of your websites (and add more) from the “My Websites” section.
- Generate detailed reports (by website, partner, date range, ad format…)
- Edit your profile.
- Download your invoices.
- And even **join their referral program **(remember, you get $5 if you join with my code, and you can earn money too if you invite other people to join with your own sponsor code!)
If you are new to The Moneytizer, you’ll have to spend some time on the Setup section.
Setup the Ads.txt
The most important thing is to set up the Ads.txt on each of your websites.

There are two ways of doing this:
- Manually
- Using an auto-integration

The manual integration is really easy to implement, you just need to download the ads.txt file that The Moneytizer gives you, and upload it to the root folder of your website, so the file can be found then at yourwebsite.com/ads.txt
You can easily do this:
- With an FPT, or using the FTP of your own hosting.
- With the official WordPress Plugin.
There are a couple of caveats here:
- If you are using Google Adsense, you already have an ads.txt! So either you copy your Google Publisher ID in the new ads.txt file before uploading it (looks like google.com, pub- XXX, DIRECT, XXX), or you copy all the lines you’ll find on The Moneytizer and add them below your current ads.txt file.
- If The Moneytizer adds new partners, you’ll have to manually update your ads.txt again. This usually happens every few months, but updating the file only takes a couple of minutes if you are used to it.

If you want this “ads.txt” file to be updated automatically, you could choose the automatic integration, you’ll have to upload a php file to the root of your file, again, using an FTP like Filezilla.
If you do this, TheMoneytizer will manage everything for you, even keeping safe the Google Publisher ID.
You can read more info about the automatic integration [here].
This “optional” step is necessary for your income with The Moneytizer to be high.
If you don’t have it, many of your advertisers will refuse to appear on your website, and your earnings will be reduced.

If you don’t have one, all you have to do is copy the code you’ll find on the “Consent Banner” section, and paste it into the of your website AND on all of your pages/subdomains.
Select your d Units
The last step is to select what kind of ads you want to show on your website.
This is something you’ll define from the Ad Units section.
Currently, there are around 14 different ones.

- Megabanner
- Top Medium Rectangle
- Half Page
- Skyscraper
- Bottom Medium Rectangle
- Mega Skyscrapper
- Megabanner Bottom
- Billboard
- Skin
- Footer or Slide-in
- Recommended content
- Native Article Auto
- Pop
- In text
Most of them are pretty self-explanatory thanks to the drawings, but you’ll be able to see a demo of any before implementing them in the Ad Units section.
For instance, here is a demo of the Ad Unit Skin.
Installing them on your website is really easy, just pick the one you want to use, and copy and paste the HTML on the pages you want them to be shown, just as you did with the banner consent.

WordPress Plugin
As stated above, The Moneytizer offers a WordPress Plugin that will allow you to manage everything from the WordPress admin panel.
Although this is something that can make things easier, I don’t consider it necessary.

The Moneytizer’s website is pretty neat and it will give you everything you need without having to add extra plugins to your website.
The Moneytizer vs Adsense
If you are wondering if The Moneytizer is better than Adsense, there’s only one way to find out, and that’s by testing.
The Moneytizer uses a CPM model, so you will need more visits and long-form content, while Adsense is CPC, so you’ll need users actually making click on the banners in order to make money.
But you don’t have to choose between mom and dad, because you can use Google Adsense and The Moneytizer at the same time on the same website.
So if you are in doubt, you can start out by adding small Ad Units to your website and see if that impacts your Adsense Revenue, or if, on the other hand, you have found a new source of income.

The Moneytizer, opinion, and recommendation
The Moneytizer is completely free to join and there is no permanence contract of any kind, so if you fulfill the requirements, there is nothing to lose but a couple of hours implementing and analyzing the results.
If Adsense doesn’t accept your site, and you don’t want to join Ezoic, The Moneytizer will be a great companion until you meet the Mediavine requirements, and who knows if for much longer than that.
I personally regret not adding more sites when the 30,000 visit requirement was lower, as I now have several projects that have run out of monetization until that point is reached.
If you have the opportunity, don’t hesitate to sign up.
