If you are trying to start your first streaming using Streamlabs, but you’ve found the following message: “YouTube account not enabled for live streaming”, don’t worry.
This is a common problem, and usually, it has an easy solution.
Here’s how you fix it!
The YouTube error message appears in the lower-left area of the Streamlabs application (if you are using another streaming app, this will be different)

This message only appears if you login with your YouTube account.
If you’ve just logged in with for instance your TikTok or Twitch account, you won’t see, but take into account that probably you won’t be able to stream to YouTube in the future anyway, as live streaming on that platform is not enabled by default.

How to fix the “YouTube account not enabled for live streaming” message on Streamlabs
On the right side of the message you’ll find two buttons:
- Fix
- And “I’m setup”.
Clicking the latest will do nothing if you don’t solve the problem first.
So just click on Fix to be redirected to your studio channel /livestreaming.
There you’ll see an image like the following:

Just click on “Enable”, and then, in the new window that will appear, tell YouTube that you want to schedule a streaming.
Right after that, select “streaming software” as the type of stream you want to use.

And that’s all!
If you come back to your Streamlabs Desktop app, you’ll probably keep seeing the “YouTube account not enabled for live streaming” message.
Just click on “I’m setup”, or restart the application.
The message will be gone, and you’ll be able to start streaming on YouTube.
Note that although it’s not necessary to have a monetizable channel for live streamings, you’ll need to verify your phone number, otherwise you won’t be able to stream through YouTube, with, or without Streamlabs.
