Plano Privacy Policy
Your plans
Everything you draw (walls, rooms, furniture, floors, save points, variants, budgets) is kept in a .plano file. If iCloud Drive is on, Plano saves it in iCloud Drive › Plano in your own iCloud account so your other devices can open it; otherwise it stays where you save it on your Mac. The 3D view, renders, video tours and exports (PDF, PNG, DXF, CSV) are all made on your device.
Pictures you trace over
If you import a photo, scan or PDF of an existing plan to trace over it, the picture is stored inside that plan file and processed on your device, including Draw Walls from Picture. It is never uploaded anywhere by us.
Room scanning (iPhone and iPad)
The iPhone and iPad app uses the camera and LiDAR sensor, through Apple's RoomPlan, to measure your rooms. iOS asks for camera permission first. The scan is processed entirely on the device; only the resulting plan (walls, doors, windows, furniture outlines) is saved, as a .plano file in your iCloud Drive. No camera images or video are kept or sent.
Sharing a plan
If you share a plan (a Pro feature), Plano uses Apple's CloudKit: a copy of the plan is stored in your iCloud account and Apple sends the invitation. People you invite can see and edit that plan, and Apple shows each participant's iCloud name to the others, as with any shared iCloud document. You can stop sharing or remove people at any time. These records are stored by Apple, under Apple's privacy policy, and never pass through anything we run.
What the app never collects
- Your name, email address or any other contact detail. Plano shows your Mac account name and picture in its toolbar, read locally from macOS; they are not sent anywhere.
- Analytics, usage statistics, crash telemetry or any behavioural profile.
- Advertising identifiers. There is no advertising and no tracking SDK in the app.
- Your location, contacts or photo library.
Purchases
Plano Pro purchases are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, Inc., which manages the purchase and tells the app whether Pro is unlocked.
- Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier it generates itself, the purchase receipt, and basic technical information about the device and app version. It never receives your plans, scans or pictures.

Children
Plano collects no personal data from anyone, including children, and shows no advertising.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on request. Your plans and shared plans are in your own iCloud account, where you can delete them. If you have bought Plano Pro and want the anonymous purchase record erased, write to us and we will ask RevenueCat to delete it. This also removes your ability to restore the purchase.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version is always the one published at this address (javi.link/plano/privacy).
