Zipmunk Privacy Policy
Your files
Every archive you open, unzip, squeeze, convert or edit is processed locally on your device. Zipmunk does not upload files, file names or archive contents anywhere. When the app needs access to a folder (to write files next to an archive, or to watch a folder for Auto-Unzip), macOS asks you first, and that permission is stored on your device.
Passwords
If you turn on remembered passwords (a Pro feature), a password that opens an archive is saved in your iCloud Keychain, linked to a fingerprint of that archive (a hash of its first bytes and its size, not its name or contents). The Keychain is encrypted and managed by Apple; we have no access to it. You can erase every saved password in Settings › Passwords › Forget All.
iCloud features
- Settings sync. A few preferences travel between your devices through Apple's iCloud key-value storage. These are app settings only, never files or passwords.
- Share links. If you use Squeeze and get a link (a Pro feature), the archive is copied to iCloud Drive › Zipmunk › Links in your own iCloud account and Apple creates the link. The file is stored and served by Apple, under Apple's privacy policy, and never passes through anything we run.
What the app never collects
- Your name, email address or any other contact detail. Zipmunk shows your Mac account name and picture in its toolbar, read locally from macOS; they are not sent anywhere.
- Analytics, usage statistics, crash telemetry or any behavioural profile.
- Advertising identifiers. There is no advertising and no tracking SDK in the app.
- Your location, contacts, photos or any other personal data.
Notifications
Zipmunk can show a notification when a job finishes or when Auto-Unzip skips a locked archive. These are generated on the device; there is no push server.
Purchases
Zipmunk Pro purchases are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, Inc., which manages the purchase and tells the app whether Pro is unlocked. This is the only network connection the app makes on its own.
- Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier it generates itself, the purchase receipt, and basic technical information about the device and app version. It never receives your files, file names or passwords.

Children
Zipmunk collects no personal data from anyone, including children, and shows no advertising.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on request. If you have bought Zipmunk Pro and want the anonymous purchase record erased, write to us and we will ask RevenueCat to delete it. This also removes your ability to restore the purchase.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version is always the one published at this address (javi.link/zipmunk/privacy).
